| The
Friends Charity
THE FRIENDS was founded in 1942 to help maintain and refurbish
the church and
to ensure its future as a centre of worship in the town. Repairs
within such an ancient church are costly and rely heavily upon its
benefactors.
THE FRIENDS is a registered charity with the object of promoting
“with the
approval of the Vicar and the P.C.C., the restoration, maintenance,
repair and
improvement of the fabric, ornaments, vestments, furniture and furnishings
of
Chesterfield Parish Church".
The Patron of THE FRIENDS is His Grace the Duke of Devonshire,
and our
President is the Bishop of Derby. Funds are generated by annual
subscription fees
and social events. Recent projects funded by THE FRIENDS include
a major contribution to the re-gilding of the clock faces, and provision
of a new door for the Sacristy.
If you are interested in becoming A FRIEND, the individual annual
subscription rate
is £ 5.00.
If you simply wish to make a donation to assist our work and aims,
cheques
should be made payable to "The Friends of Chesterfield Parish
Church" and sent to
the Parish Office marked for the attention of THE FRIENDS.
