Youth Involvement
The church welcomes children of all ages to come and join their Sunday group which has been named ‘Not Sunday School’.
The group meets in the Sacristy during the 10.30 Mass. It is important
to note that this is not a substitution for the Mass, but an attempt to
find a more appropriate way of presenting the Ministry of the Word to
the children.
The main structure of this group will compose of the children reading or
listening to the weekly scriptures and re-creating the stories onto
paper either in words or picture. The children then decide how they
would like to display their work either onto the notice board or for
example creating their stained glass window.
Their learning outcome will be that they will be able to retell a
religious story in their own way and will begin to appreciate the
importance of religion and religious artefacts.
